101-year-old veteran nears end of fundraising project

Second World War veteran John Hillman is nearing the end of his fundraising campaign. He’s walking 101 laps around the courtyard in his retirement home — one for every year he’s been alive. On Saturday, he’ll be walking the last six laps. It took him less than a week to reach his goal of raising $101,000 for Save The Children Canada.
